Choirs Ontario
An arts service organization dedicated to the promotion and support of choral arts in the province of Ontario. Choirs Ontario provides a wide
array of programmes and services including the Ontario Youth Choir, a Children's Choir Camp, two competitions, a choral music library, a quarterly
newsletter and various support materials, handbooks and publications.
ChoralNet
"The Internet Centre for Choral Music" - a choral music resource that includes E-mail newsletters, Forums (Web Message Boards), links to over
2000 Choir Websites, choral repertoire lists and ideas, composer listings, rehearsal tips etc.
Ontario Arts Council
Promoting and assisting the development of the arts and artists for the enjoyment and benefit of all Ontarians.
Canada Council for the Arts
According to the Canada Council Act, the role of the Council is "to foster and promote the study and enjoyment of, and the production of works in,
the arts." To fulfill this mandate, the Council offers a broad range of grants and services to professional Canadian artists and arts organizations.
Association of Canadian Choral Conductors
Founded in 1980, the Association of Canadian Choral Conductors (ACCC) is Canada's only professional organization for choral conductors.
ACCC promotes choral music at all levels throughout Canada, and supports and encourages the writing and performance of Canadian choral
music.
Toronto Choirs:
Amadeus Choir
The 115 auditioned members of the Choir perform a regular series of concerts in Toronto, presenting well-known artists in works by Canadian and international composers, including major choral works with instrumental ensembles or full orchestra as well as challenging a cappella performances.
Toronto Mendelssohn Choir
The Toronto Mendelssohn Choir is Canada's world renowned
large vocal ensemble. Since its foundation in 1894, it has
maintained a tradition of performing the finest choral
repertoire and has earned critical acclaim the world over. Comprised of over 160 volunteer singers, the Choir promotes and develops major works for large choir.
Orpheus Choir
Orpheus Choir was founded in 1964 by a former chorus master of the
Mendelssohn Choir - John Sidgwick - and has been acclaimed for its musicality, versatility and innovation.
Toronto Classical Singers
Founded in 1991, The Toronto Classical Singers continue to bring
choral/orchestral classics to our growing audience. Under the leadership of Jurgen Petrenko, the Toronto Classical Singers perform with the Talisker Players, and concerts feature well over 100
performers per concert, and some of Toronto's most accomplished young soloists.
Toronto Choral Society
The Toronto Choral Society was established in 1845 and
boasts a proud tradition of nurturing and developing
fine vocal musicians. Today, the Society includes the
already renowned TCS Big Choir and the smaller TCS
Ensemble, North 44°.
The Toronto Choral Society wants to
make sure that as many people as possible who live in
the Toronto area have opportunities to be part of a
choral experience.
Pax Christi Chorale
Pax Christi Chorale is a Mennonite and Brethren in Christ choir that has maintained
a tradition of fine choral singing for the past thirteen years. Many of the choristers are local Mennonites, but the choir boasts members from many different faith traditions and cultures, all of whom gather for weekly rehearsals because of their common love of singing.
Riverdale Youth Singers
The Riverdale Youth Singers is a Community Choir for Children & Youth
supported in large part by the Riverdale community in the city of Toronto,
Ontario, Canada and offered to the children and youth of the city for
their musical enjoyment.
