
Milestones
Important milestones and key events in HPC history
- Featured on the Classical Kids recordings Tchaikovsky Discovers America, Hallelujah Handel! and on the 2001 Juno Award-winning recording, A Classical Kids Christmas.
- Made its symphonic debut with the Toronto Symphony Orchestra (TSO) in 1994, and in 1997 performed with both the TSO and Strings Across the Sky, a group of young fiddlers from the across the western Arctic region.
- In 2000, the entire Choir joined with the Toronto Sinfonietta and several adult choirs in a Millennium Concert at Toronto’s Ford Centre for the Performing Arts, featuring the world première of The Sermon of John the Baptist by Alexander Rappoport
- In 2005 appointed the Children’s Choir-in-Residence for the University of Toronto’s Faculty of Music; workshops and annual performances with various choirs and ensembles at the Faculty.
- In July 2008, participated in the international Festival 500 in Newfoundland.
- World Première of “Requiem for Cecilia” with Toronto Philharmonia and CCOC.
- Performances at numerous benefit concerts including, annually from 2007-2009, the Easter Seals Telethon on CBC television, and the CHUM/CP24 Christmas Wish in 2009.
- In 2009, a major joint concert with the Hamilton Children’s’ Choir at Roy Thomson Hall, featuring Benjamin Britten’s Requiem.
- Invited as the only non-German performers for Bodersweier, Germany’s 1125th anniversary in July 2009; performances in Germany and France on this tour.
- December 2009 holiday concert televised concert on Rogers Cable.
- Performance at international Rotary Youth Day on April 9, 2010.
