About Us

For nearly 25 years, High Park Choirs (HPC) of Toronto has been developing children’s choral and musical ability, promoting inclusiveness, fun, teamwork, cultural diversity and choral excellence. The result is children who have confidence in themselves and each other and who produce a beautiful and unique sound. HPC is carving a niche in the Canadian choral landscape with our varied repertoire, through an emphasis on global contemporary music and exquisite classical music.

HPC’s strategy aims to delight audiences with choral artistry beyond expectations.  HPC is aiming to elevate the concept of choral performance. The choirs will build a sound concept that is flexible and diverse, and when paired with innovative use of choreography, physical culture, visual and sensory artistry, provide a performance experience well beyond the traditional chorus.

Performing classical music requires mastery of form and strong artistry. High Park Choirs respects and believes that this musical foundation is integral to building greater artists. To that end, HPC is introducing theory and sight-singing components to create stronger musicians and choristers. With these skills in place, choristers will explore choral artistry in a free, creative environment. HPC will provide choristers with the opportunity to collaborate with artists in the realms of choreography, dance and physical culture, visual design, spoken word and literature. Through this creative collaborative environment, choral artistry will become elevated into a fully enriched artistic expression.
