High Park Choirs Germany Tour 2009

The High Park Choirs of Toronto is thrilled to announce its July, 2009 tour to Baden-Wurttemberg, Germany!

This summer, our choir is travelling to Germany to perform as part of the 1125th anniversary celebrations for the town of Bodersweier in the region of Baden-Wurttemburg. We received a personal invitation from the conductor of the Bodersweier Männerchor, and we are honoured to be the only foreign artists to be invited to the celebrations. As the sole representatives of Ontario and Canada, from July 21-29 we will perform twice in the town of Bodersweier, once in the nearby city of Kehl and once in Strasbourg, France, across the river from Kehl. Performances feature our Senior and Chamber divisions, comprising fifty choristers ages 12 to 17.

For many of our choristers, this will be their first trip to Europe, and the experience will provide much more than just a tour: they will be immersed in a new culture; they will learn a new language; they will get to experience new traditions, both general and choral; and they will work together as a choir in new ways to improve their sound and significantly increase the impact of their performances.
