High Park Choirs of Toronto unveils new strategy

High Park Choirs (HPC) has developed a new strategy for the next three years to respond to its growth under Artistic Director Zimfira Poloz and to realize its full potential. While the choirs will continue to sing a range of excellent repertoire from various cultures including African, Scandinavian, French and Canadian, and from the Baroque and Classical to recent commissions, we are developing something special to set High Park Choirs apart. Over the next two to three years, the goal is for the choirs to become the “Cirque” of children’s choirs, transforming the traditional choral concert into a multimedia choral musical production. HPC has developed this concept by combining practicality and dreams.

Zimfira Poloz is recognized as one of the world’s unique conductors of children’s choirs. She demonstrates an extraordinary knowledge of both vocal production and global repertoire; and she has a special ability to connect with each individual child, leading the choristers to connect to the music and their audiences.

For HPC, she envisions developing  ‘Choral Productions of tomorrow’, in which we elevate children’s choir music to an integrated artistic multimedia performance, similar to the transformation of traditional circus arts by cirques to an elevated level of performance. Watch for these special performances in 2011 and 2012!
